Our Design Services
We take power design beyond isolated components—we engineer solutions that seamlessly integrate with the entire project infrastructure. Traditional approaches often treat power distribution, lighting, and control systems separately, but true efficiency, safety, and sustainability come from an interconnected design philosophy.
Lighting plays a crucial role in defining any space’s atmosphere, mood, and functionality. Our lighting design philosophy is built on collaboration with our clients to ensure their vision comes to life while addressing key factors such as safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Electronic system design is about more than just cabling and components, it’s about delivering intelligent infrastructure that supports the safety, security, and communication needs of modern facilities. From K-12 schools and transit hubs to commercial offices and public buildings, we design electronic systems that enhance building functionality, interconnectivity, and operational efficiency.
Our Portfolio
We recognize the vital role educational environments play in shaping our communities’ futures. Our work spans K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, where we design electrical systems that enhance learning experiences while prioritizing safety and efficiency. Our optimal lighting solutions create inviting, productive classrooms, laboratories, and lecture halls.
Our expertise extends to municipal facilities, where we contribute to developing essential infrastructure that serves the public. From city halls and community centers to police stations and fire departments, our designs focus on creating functional, secure, and welcoming spaces for community members.
Parks and recreational facilities are vital for promoting community health and well-being. Our designs for parks, sports complexes, and recreational centers emphasize creating safe, enjoyable environments for outdoor activities. We focus on integrating lighting solutions that enhance safety during evening hours while contributing to these spaces’ aesthetic appeal.

On behalf of Jefferson County Public Schools, I would like to extend my appreciation for your work on the district-wide athletic field lighting project and your continued support across various electrical projects within the district.Your expertise has contributed significantly to the successful planning and execution of several critical infrastructure upgrades. Specifically, your attention to code compliance, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability has helped ensure these improvements meet both current needs and future goals for our school facilities.
For the athletic field lighting initiative, I commend your hard work throughout the permitting process working with all the local jurisdictions, the precision in your lighting layouts, and coordination with site teams, which resulted in uniform illumination levels, reduced light spill, and improved visibility for students and spectators alike. Your responsiveness during construction and your thorough documentation were also notable strengths that contributed to staying on schedule and within budget.
Across other district electrical projects, your ability to assess existing conditions, troubleshoot legacy systems, and recommend cost-effective solutions has proven invaluable. Your proactive communication with stakeholders, timely deliverables, and flexibility in addressing evolving project scopes have been consistently appreciated.
I look forward to continued collaboration and welcome any suggestions you may have for improving future processes.

We have enjoyed many years working on projects with Ackerman Engineering. Their services are always prompt, professional, and courteous. When we submit Ackerman’s electrical plans to Plan Review for permits, they rarely need corrections or updates. To me, that says a lot and is certainly not the case with drawings we see from other firms we see in the industry.
